We have been having an awesome series at church called "Make War". The past two weeks has been about, why bad things happen to good people. Yesterday we had video stories of two families that have faced tragedy in their life. One of the stories was about a family man that had been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. He was a husband and father to three children. He worked for the church I attend. It is a very large church so I did not know him personally. He past away recently from his cancer but his story was so uplifting to so many people. The church had talked to him I believe it was just a few months before he passed away because he wanted to share his story. The thing that just sticks out in my mind about what he said is if God choses to heal him then "God is God and God is good" and even if God choses not to heal him then "God is still God and God is still good. To God be the glory."
Sometimes we question God when bad things happen in our life. We can't fully understand why we have to go through such horrible experiences. This is just a reminder that God always has a plan and no matter what kind of tragedy we may face (and we all will at some point in our life) as hard as they are to understand that God is there and God will be glorified some way through that.
Yesterday this families story and the other that we heard really changed lives. We saw many people in the church yesterday leave to go and talk with our care team that made decisions to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. To God be the glory.
